The Challenge

A pharmaceutical client partnered with Veranex to explore, develop, and validate a digital solution for a new treatment for Alzheimers patients. Our team consisted of Design Researchers, UX Designers, Human Factor Engineers, and Program Managers.

Our Process

This project followed the design thinking process from concept through prototyping. Below, I have outlined my involvement in each of the phases.

Phase 1: Discovery
Developed visual stimuli (app wireframes) to be used in resonance testing. Supported resonance testing with 30+ end users and stakeholders to gather feedback on overall concept direction.

Phase 2: Define
Support Research Synthesis to identify key findings from resonance testing and define design directions moving forward. Additionally supported analyzing findings from a behavior design lens using the COM-B model (Capability + Opportunity + Motivation = Behavior)

Phase 3: Design
Collaborated with Systems Engineering team to define product requirements. Explored multiple information architecture concepts for the application and created detailed workflow maps to then create two distinct concept directions for a cognitive walkthrough testing. I moderated and synthesized interviews across 3 distinct stakeholder groups to ultimately identify the final design direction.

Phase 4: Develop
Explored 400+ visual design concepts. Ultimately defined brand identity and language for the app. Prototyped key flows within the app (including “first time use” and “experienced user” flows). These prototypes were used by our Human Factors team in formative testing and by the client for internal stakeholder reviews.
